After my first studies in architecture, the excitement of creating something with my own hands, made me decide to work in a film studio, as set designer. There, started my career in animation and motion graphic design. Working as an art director for print, film, and TV for many years, fine art - drawing and painting - was a permanent source of creative expression.
The process starts with a drawing, however, the canvas has its own life and takes me in a journey where I am equally author and viewer. The result is the material expression of an internal dialog that ends most of the times with surprise. This surprise leads to more interest and research of the same discourse, in oil or acrylic on canvas, or watercolor and ink on paper.
My work, at present, is defined by the love of color and inspired from natural forms. It is also visible the desire to explore new techniques, still influenced by animation, through clean, crisp lines, bright colors and a flow of form characteristic of moving images. Cultural heritage and my interest in art history are sources of inspiration, influenced by Japanese architecture, Gustav Klimt, Wassily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, Paul Klee, and Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
